Pinckney State Recreation Area Bowl Valley

On a side-trail, just off the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail, just south of Park Lyndon, I walked into a large, shallow, bowl-shaped depression and stopped.  Something was wrong, but I couldn’t tell exactly what it was, at first.  After a minute or two, I realized everything was silent.  Whether from the accoustics of the valley or something else, I couldn’t tell, but in that valley, the wind stopped blowing, the birds stopped singing, and everything was calm.
