Waterloo State Recreation Area
Located west of Ann Arbor, Michigan, about half-way to Jackson, just past Chelsea, is Waterloo State Recreation Area. A mix of forests and streams, lakes and wetlands, this large recreation area stretches for miles, providing over 80 km (50 miles) of hiking, mountain biking, equestrian, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing trails, a discovery center, campgrounds, boating, and more.
To the east of Waterloo State Recreation Area, the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail continues into Pinckney State Recreation Area.
